A three story grassy knoll is the backdrop for the Ford Park Amphitheater. Allco accepted the Beaumont amphitheater project because of the positive impact it creates by providing the opportunity to increase tourism for the community. Ford Park Amphitheater was the largest amphitheater in the State of Texas when built; heeding way to the phrase “everything is bigger in Texas.” The project required Allco to bring in 386,000 cubic yards of dirt which created the sloped grassy knoll with lounging space for 15,000. One hundred and twenty five feet above the air-conditioned stage is a hurricane resistant steel structure. Allco’s innovative development allows the cover to also supply protection and shade for the 2,500 person seated area. The overhang is supported by architectural truss columns which have been strategically designed and placed to complement the facility and withstand hurricane force winds, which it has done now on 5 separate occasions. With its own power generator system, the Ford Amphitheater was home to FEMA and first responders after the destructive forces of Hurricane Rita in 2005. The facility has 5 separate buildings for restrooms, concessions, and a box office. The administration building houses the complex’s management offices, banquet and meeting rooms, and entertainer’s green rooms. In addition to the amphitheater facility, Allco paved 20 acres for parking and roads and an extensive drainage system. Building the entertainment facility utilized each of Allco’s four divisions.
