Inside the Hardin County Courthouse there was a small area for holding offenders. Although the space was frequently empty, the judge declared that the facility was un-fit to remain as the jail. Allco was awarded the construction project and had begun ground work at the site location where the team then uncovered the foundation for area’s original courthouse. The historical foundation was interlaced red brick that had been laid so well that even 100 years later it remained strong. The presiding courthouse was notified of the situation and Allco provided an approved list of solutions. At the instruction of the courthouse, Allco was able to use rock-drills and pneumatic hammers to penetrate through specific areas of the interlaced brick. At these areas the team calculated the exact location to embed anchors to which the pre-cast jail unit would be fastened. The unit arrived on schedule and the anchors were in the precise location in order for the Allco team to successfully complete the project.
