Highlights of the Recreational Center located on the campus of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas include an indoor track, a forty-foot indoor rock climbing wall, a fitness center. The Rec Center also houses a café; television and game lounge; group fitness studio; three basketball courts; five racquetball courts; a multipurpose court for badminton, volleyball, and table tennis; an outdoor putting green; and a fully-enclosed indoor soccer/floor hockey rink. Finding a way to your desired activity is as easy as looking to the terrazzo floor, where inlaid icons depict directions to the activity. The construction of this Rec Center was performed by Allco after the previous facility was gutted down to the foundation, steel beams, and roof. Allco discovered that most of the support beams had been damaged, so our team dutifully repaired the structure by supporting the roof, cutting out the damaged beams and welding in place the new beams. This task was no simple measure, but it is Allco’s commitment to build sustainable and safe facilities in which the owner is completely satisfied.
